In 1998, Chet was one of four (4) triathletes in the world to have completed the Double Deca Ironman (20 times a full ironman). *six (6) triathletes participated and only four (4), including Chet completed the event. And now 12 years later, Chet attempted to be the first in the world to complete a 2nd Double Deca Ironman. |

524 Mile Run -- From November 27, 2010 (Sat) to December 11 at the Kapiolani Park plus December 12 for Honolulu Marathon.

Chet the Jet started his Double Deca Ironman at 6:00am at the Oahu Club Swimming Pool. Every 500 meters, Chet was taking a 1 to 2 minute rest, and every 4 hours he was taking a break. During these times he consumed SPIZ, Gatorade, Recovery e21 electrolytes, and water. At around 3:00pm, he approached 12,000 meters (8 miles). As of 9:00pm, Chet completed 21,500 meters (13.5 miles). It was a good day for him. The weather was sunny and hot. Chet and Charles made sure to protect skin from sun and pool water. |

Chet's been swimming for 26.5 hrs and looks great! He has completed with 44,500 meters or just about 28 miles. This is slightly behind his planned schedule as his short breaks are adding to his overall time. Breaks that used to be 1-2 minutes are turning into 5-8 minutes. At his new pace he now plans to be finished with the swimming portion (48 miles) some time around 6:00pm on Monday, November 15. |

Chet and his handler (and motivator!) was able to get a little rest last night. In the morning, Chet was on lap 517 (51,700 meters = 32 miles). In the afternoon, Chet was on lap 635 (63,500 meters = 40 miles) and Chet only had 110 laps left by end of the day. Chet and Charles are aiming to complete swim part at around 1:00pm next day (Tuesday, Nov 16). And then move on to bike part at the Lagoon Drive. Many friends of Chet are helping, motivating and pushing him and Chet has been doing GREAT! |

In the morning, Chet was on the way to the swim finish. He had 40 more laps to complete. At 1:30pm, Chet completed swim portion (48 miles) at the Oahu Club in Hawaii Kai. At 3:00pm Chet arrived at Lagoon drive to start 2,240 miles of biking. First day of bike was a success! Charles Dias has been with Chet 24/7. |

Chet completed 50 miles yesterday. In the morning, he did biked 14 miles 6:00am to 10:00am. He is aiming at least 150 miles a day. At 8:00pm, he had 10 laps left for Day 5. Total is 228 miles |

Here is Chet's new updates: Chet will be doing a Decca on the bike, and is scheduled to start the double Decca run this Saturday at Kapiolani Park. Run will be 33 miles a day with the last 26.2 miles and finish at the Honolulu Marathon on Dec 12. Everyone is invited to Lagoon Drive to ride with him (thru Friday night) and then he'll need lots of run support starting Saturday the 27th!! |

Chet is doing great on the bike. He is riding 130-140 miles per day and has ridden 900 miles. He will be riding at Lagoon Drive everyday until Friday night and will begin the run Saturday morning at Kapiolani Park! He wants to thank everyone who has to support both him and the support crew! Chet hit the 1,100 mile mark tonight!! Chet will ride until Thursday evening, and then take Friday off to regroup and prep for the run. Run will begin at 7am on Saturday at Kapiolani park across from Kaimana beach. This will be his run schedule everyday: 7:00am to 9:30am 12:00pm to 2:30pm 4:30pm to 7:00pm Everybody is welcomed to come run with Chet during those times, or just hang out with him at the park in between those run times! |

Today is his 2nd day of running! He started running at 7:00am, and after his morning run, he had an infected blister under his toe. He had a small surgery and recovered from the toe problem. From today, he is running 33 miles a day until the Honolulu Marathon on December 12th, 2010. His running schedule is 7:00am to 9:30am, 12:00pm to 2:30pm, and 4:30pm to 7:00pm. If anybody is in the Kapiolani Park area and would like to join Chet for running. He welcomes you to run together! |

3rd day of Running! Chet has been running good. David Carlsson, the Team Jet Marathon coordinator and head coach, and Pei, Teamjetter who is training for Honolulu Marathon, joined his run in the evening. Today, Chet hit the 100 miles of running. Total of running is now 101.8 miles. |

Chet the Jet is still working hard on the Double Deca Ironman. He swam 48 miles at the Oahu Club from Nov. 13-16. Rode his bike 1200 miles on Lagoon Dr. from Nov. 16-25. Now he passed the 130 mile mark on the 4th day of his run. Stop by to cheer him on at Kapiolani Park as he runs 33 miles/day from 7am to 7pm. 13th Day of Running. Due to the storm in Hawaii, it was heavily raining plus windy all day. Chet had to run in 24 hour fitness for 33.8 miles. He spent 7 and 1/2 hours on the treadmil. |

Aloha Team Jetters and those who support Chet the Jet. Originally, Chet Blanton (Participant) and Charles Dias (Handler) was going to Monterray, Mexico for Double Deca Ironman. Unfortunately, due to the extremely hazardous conditions in Mexico, they decided not to take a chance to jeopardize their life by making the trip there. As a result, Chet and Charles completed Chet's 2nd Double Deca Ironman in HAWAII!!
